About Rachel Fleming

Having worked for over ten years in a busy corporate environment as a sales professional, Rachel decided to take a change in direction and deepen her knowledge and practice of Yoga.

She has studied with The International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre in India and in 2011 completed further training and qualified as a Pregnancy Yoga teacher studying with the inspirational Uma Dinsmore-Tuli (Yoga Campus).

Rachel’s teaching style follows classical Hatha Yoga teachings informed by the Sivananda tradition and the teachings of Swami Sivananda and Swami Vishnu-devananda. This incorporates breath control (pranayama), postures (asanas) and deep relaxation. Open group classes are suitable for all levels of student and can encompass Sanskrit chants and preparation for seated meditation. Her teaching is inspired by the truly humbling and spiritual experience Hatha Yoga can bring to everyone’s lives. Her aim is to share this with all her students.

She approaches each class with humility, kindness, joy, an open mind and a yearning to learn from each experience. Her spiritual name is Srividya which means the greatest of all knowledge. The best teacher must first be the best student.
